While we were at the Pomona Reptile SuperShow we had the opportunity to sit with Andrew Wyatt President of United States Association of Reptile Keepers which is usually called USARK by most.  We asked Andrew to explain what is USARK and why is it important to the reptile community.  He of course obliged us and not only that but he talked about the recent victories, the on going war, as well as where the money is going when you donate to USARK. If you want to visit them you can find them at www.usark.org

We met Mark Romansky of Moonstone Dragons at the Las Vegas Reptile Expo where he had some of his Bearded Dragons Pogona vitticeps for sale.  We spoke with Mark about various aspects of Dragon keeping and we were so impressed that we decided we had to have Mark on the show.  Mark is not only a breeder of high quality Bearded Dragon Lizards Pogona vitticeps but he has been recently elected as the president of the Southern Nevada Herpetological Society.  To say that Mark is actively involved in all things herpetoculture would be an understatement; when it comes to reptile legislation or any pet legislation for that matter Mark admits “I’m the first one to grab my helmet and sword and run up the hill.”  Another quote from Mark and my personal favorite regarding reptile legislation is “Today it’s pythons, tomorrow it will be Poodles.”

Mark has a take on reptile keeping that sometimes flies in the face of ‘conventional wisdom’ and this makes him one of the better breeders out there in our eyes.  So take a listen and see what Mark has to say.

Scott Powley of Powley Exotic Reptiles

Scott Powley takes the time to chat with us about what it’s like to be in the Green Tree Python realm of the herpetoculture industry.  He shares with us his early trials and success’ as a breeder and explains that Green Tree Pythons are not actually the hard python to take care of that most people think they are. He reveals some tips and tricks to keeping them healthy and more. So jump in and enjoy Scott Powley and Green Tree Pythons.
